Cutehouse (2022) comes from my personal feelings and experiences of being labeled as cute. It presents an alternative discourse on the duality of cuteness. Raised to fulfill fantasies of cuteness, the unnervingly adorable girls trapped in delicate vases are the Cutehouse’s centerpiece. In this looping animation, a cute-obsessed circus family raises, educates, and objectifies their vase girls, possessed by never-ending cute rituals.
The exhibition contains three screens played simultaneously. Each screen has its own music and sound effects that correspond to the actions happening on the screen
